The City of Oshawa

Oshawa is a city in Southern Ontario, Canada. The population of Oshawa is approximately 152,000 people. The city of Oshawa is 60 km East of downtown Toronto. It's often referred to as a university city.

The city is home to the Second Marsh Wildlife Area, one of the largest wetlands in Southern Ontario. Oshawa, also has beautiful bike paths. The Oshawa Creek Bike Path is surrounded by forest with many bridges throughout the path. You can often spot wildlife, such as deer and rabbits, and birds. It leads down to the waterfront path, which also leads to the Second Marsh.

Oshawa Jobs

The auto industry, and specifically General Motors Canada, has been a major part of Oshawa's economy. The headquarters of General Motors Canada and major assembly plants are located in Oshawa.

Shopping

Oshawa Centre is the largest mall in Oshawa with over 230 stores. In 2013 the mall started major renovations and a large expansion, which will greatly increase the size of the mall.

Education 

Opportunities are growing in Oshawa. There is one major college and 3 universities: Durham College, Trent University, UOIT, and Lakridge Health Oshawa which has partnered with Queen's University. All of these schools have announced further expansion plans.
